Charlie Woods is a soulful folk singer/songwriter from Lutruwita, Tasmania. Creating music that reflects all aspects of a young person’s life, growing up in a small town and finding themselves as a queer artist. Pouring their experiences and struggles into each word that makes up the skeleton of their musical creations.
Beginning their performance journey at 17 in local bars and restaurants, Charlie has since grown into a compelling live act, supporting artists such as Ruby Fields, Keli Holiday, The Sleepyheads, Claire Anne Taylor, Sick Visor and Mike Elrington. They have also appeared at major events such as Party in the Paddock (2024 & 2025) and the Forth Pub 151st festival (2023).
Drawing inspiration from artists like Angie McMahon, Hozier, Claire Anne Taylor, and The Teskey Brothers, Charlie’s music moves fluidly between reflective, soul bearing ballads and warm groove driven folk, connecting with listeners in a way that feels personal and universal. Their debut single Rushing Back (2023), was followed by Lonely (2024), recorded, mixed and mastered by Charlie themselves, showcasing both their artistry and technical skill.
